The Automatic S1 was the first watch we made and the first wristwatch ever to be designed and manufactured in Sweden, premiering in 1993 with a white dial and black bracelet. The three rings on the outer rim of the case provide both a smooth surface that eliminates scratching against the shirtsleeve and a representation of our place in the universe – Stockholm/Sweden/the World. This collection also includes our first ladies’ model.
OUR ICON IS BACK
It all started 30 years ago with a vision of showing the world our beautiful craftsmanship. In 1993 we manufactured the world’s first Swedish wristwatch. 1995 we celebrated that the Automatic S1 won the gold medal for the best Swedish design. Now 23 years later our icon is back.
ASSEMBLED BY HAND
All our timepieces are assembled by hand, one by one, at the Sjöö Sandström workshop in Stockholm. Since a watch consists of several hundred parts that must be tuned with exact precision, this is indeed a work for the perfectionists. Each Sjöö Sandström model is produced in small series and every timepiece is meticulously tested before release.

PERFECT TIMING
Our story is a timely journey starting out in Stockholm in 1986. At this time, the two engineers and watch aficionados Christer Sjöö and Mikael Sandström visualize a bridge between tradition and technology. They ask themselves whether craftsmanship and high-tech innovation can symphonize in one single watch. And soon an idea is born. Honing their skills, they introduce the Automatic in 1993, an elegant handmade watch that goes on to win the esteemed Excellent Swedish Design award in 1995.
The big break, however, comes in 1997 with the introduction of the Chronolink Worldtimer UTC, a marvel of watchmaking ingenuity combining analogue elegance, electronic brilliance and classic Scandinavian aesthetics.

Sjöö Sandström offers a 2 year international warranty, covering anomalies relating to material and manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover damages, such as scratches on glass, watch case or bracelets, battery change or color changes of leather bracelets.
The Sjöö Sandström 2 year international warranty is valid with an official warranty card, with a date and stamp from an authorized Sjöö Sandström dealer.
